Ecophon acoustic wall panel systems
The traditional way to add sound absorption to a room is to install a suspended acoustic ceiling. However, this is not always possible or it may be that only some parts of the ceiling area can be treated with sound-absorbing material.
Ecophon offers wall panel systems with different types of surfaces and profiles. The choice of system depends on the type of premises in which it is to be installed. In schools for instance, a surface with high impact resistance is recommended while, in a prestigious office, a surface and profile with high aesthetic qualities would be preferable.

GypLyner UNIVERSAL - GypLyner UNIVERSAL wall lining system is a cost-effective, virtually independent metal frame drylining. It is a general purpose system that is suitable for all internal non-loadbearing applications.
GypLyner IWL - GypLyner IWL independent wall lining is a lightweight, non-loadbearing system, which is built independently of the external wall construction. The system is used in all types of building, but is particularly suitable for those with reinforced concrete or steel frames.
FlameLyner - used to line the external walls of steel framed industrial buildings. The lining provides fire resistance to structural steel sections clad with lightweight metal sheeting, and can also be used in association with new or existing masonry walls to increase sound insulation and meet thermal performance requirements.
Fire glass walls
The desire to balance design innovation, benefits from increased visibility, natural lighting, enhanced aesthetics and multifunctional performance together with building code requirements and protection needs, can be achieved using fire and safety rated glass.
Complete solutions from interior applications such as means of egress and occupancy separation walls, to exterior facades.
Vetrotech Saint-Gobain is able to offer the industry’s broadest range of products to meet both standard and unique conditions. Specialising in high performance fire protection glass, advanced technology is used to provide clear wire-free glass and introduce increased transparency and more day-light into building design.
Cavity fire barriers
Building Regulations require that cavities and concealed spaces in the structure or fabric of a building are sub-divided or sealed by means of cavity barriers or fire-stopping to restrict the hidden spread of smoke and flame. This is of prime importance since many buildings are honeycombed with concealed cavities and voids within roof, floors and walls.
Steelwork encasement systems
Saint-Gobain steel encasement systems are high quality cladding systems which provide up to 180 minutes fire protection to structural steel. They will protect all forms of steelwork including universal columns and beams, joists, portal frames, and castellated beam sections. The systems can be used in all types of commercial and industrial buildings with exposed structural steelwork. The systems are fully compatible with dry lined walls, partitions and ceiling systems.
British Gypsum encasements give an assured level of fire protection to structural steelwork. They present high quality claddings with or without supplementary framing. The systems employ either direct board to board fixing or are based on the lightweight steel framework clad with fire protective boards and are fully compatible with lightweight partitions, wall linings and ceiling systems.
The GypLyner and FireCase steel encasement systems are high quality cladding systems, which provide up to two hours fire protection to structural steel. They will protect virtually all forms of steelwork including universal columns and beams, joists, portal frames, and castellated beam sections. The systems can be used in all types of commercial and industrial building with exposed structural steelwork.
Finishing systems and decorative effects
Jointing
Gyproc jointing materials produce durable joint reinforcement and a smooth, continuous, crack-free surface ready for priming and final decoration. They also seal the lining – a pre-requisite if the building element is to achieve the specified levels of resistance and sound insulation. A number of jointing specifications are available to suit the board type, method of application, and site preference.
Plaster skimming
Plaster skimming to plasterboards is a popular method of providing a smooth, seamless surface ready to receive decorative treatment. Skim plastering gives many of the advantages of a traditional plaster finish combined with quick turnaround on site.
Tiling
Tiles can be applied to drylined walls or the surface of lightweight partition systems to dado rail level or above. Tiling can be carried out in any type of building either in dry areas or in areas subject to intermittent moisture conditions.

Decorative effects
A wide variety of decorative effects can be achieved quickly and simply using Gyproc accessories to enhance walls and ceilings, and to relieve flat runs of lining, joints and angles. The portfolio of decorative products comprises gypsum cove and cornice profiles and pre-formed, aluminium style trims.
Wall covering
Use of glass fibre wall coverings has spread all over Europe, thanks to its versatility, ease of use, ease of maintenance and its excellent fire and hygienic properties.
Glass fibre allows the walls to breathe naturally. It creates no electrostatic charge and so does not attract mould, dust mites or bacteria, creating fewer allergy risks. These essential qualities are complemented by easy maintenance and impeccable hygiene standards, making it ideal for use in the health industry, as well as office and residential buildings.
Wall coverings are suitable for both new construction work and renovations. Fast and easy to install, they are available in natural or pre-painted versions, which require only a single coat of paint, for increased time savings and an impeccable finish.
Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics offer a wide range of decorative fabrics which provide an effective, customised solution for your application needs.
Stiffening and supporting reinforcing fabrics
Construction boards (made of polystyrene or polyurethane) reinforced on both sides by glass fibre mesh are successfully used in the building industry.
The boards are about 60cm wide, up to 2.5m long and up to 80mm thick and are useful for straight or difficult wall partition shapes. They can be used on various partitions in houses, on the walls of bathtubs, shower rooms, swimming pools, on pipe covers etc.
Because the reinforcing glass fibre mesh is attached to the boards with a special adhesive, the boards' surface forms an ideal substrate for thin-bed tile laying or for the application of render finishes.
Jointing tapes and repair kits
Saint-Gobain Technical Fabrics' competitive range of high-performance jointing tapes and reinforcing products offer easier, faster installation. Self-adhesive jointing tapes save both time and energy since there is no need to apply a layer of compound between the tape and wall, enabling professionals to lower labour costs considerably and DIY'ers to get the job done in record time.
The FibaTape® line features a complete range of innovative drywall jointing tapes and reinforcing products for the building industry and DIY sector, offering advantages such as strength, flexibility, ease of application and considerable cost savings.
Insulation

Moisture management
Vario KM Duplex is the next generation vapour control membrane for use in existing and new build roof and wall constructions, with the added benefit of bringing excellent air leakage performance to the building envelope.
It consists of an innovative nylon based membrane, which provides more flexible vapour control than low permeability polythene films which can trap moisture in the assembly during certain seasonal conditions. By absorbing water from the air and thereby opening molecular pores, Vario changes its vapour permeability with the ambient humidity conditions.
Vario film has a thickness of 50μm, combined with low flammability.
