We want you to meet some of the people that make our businesses tick. Below are a few stories from our people describing how they are enhancing daily life, as well as explaining why they are IN. Keep you eyes peeled to this page, you will soon be able to watch our people tell their stories.
I'm involved in shaping the future of sustainable construction in the UK. As Advocacy Leader, on a daily basis I work with policy makers, trade associations, charities and many others across industry to inform Government policy and regulation to raise standards of comfort in the built environment and help ensure all of us live and work in safe, warm, healthy, well-lit buildings.
I'm involved in an inspiring project which all began with finding ways to deal with waste reduction on site. As part of a way to reduce our waste I made contact with local training colleges and charities who may be able to use Weber`s out of spec and out date material under the right terms and conditions. We had success immediately with a charity called Blysthwood who were involved in regenerating an earthquake region of Serbia. Serbian trucks arrived and cleaned out our non-conformance area of any usable materials, 60 tonnes in total, nearly £7000 in landfill fees were saved. We received a letter from the high commissioner thanking us for our support and the impact our materials made to the community.
I'm Initiating projects that contribute to community development. The 350 Project was born from a request to come up with an idea how we, as a brand, can contribute to the celebration of the 350th Anniversary of Saint-Gobain. I put forward an idea to provide workshops for 350 local school children which was well received. I put an Action Plan together and went on to build a project team and we worked together to create a workshop which celebrates Saint-Gobain and its' achievements through the years, demonstrates what Pasquill does, and informs young people about the diverse range of career opportunities available to them within the building and distribution industry.
