Architectural sketch competition - partnership with the AJ
Winners announced for 'habitation' sketch Competition
Saint-Gobain and the Architects Journal have teamed up for this year's Sketch competition and, after a total of 340 sketch entries were received, the winners have been announced at a special event at the Saint-Gobain Innovation Centre, in London.
And... the winners are:
- First prize to: Felicity Steers, a Landscape architect from Glasgow for her depiction of streets of Glasgow
- Students prize to: Theo Games Petrohilos, for his commentary on habitation in London
- Highly Commended: Mohna Jolly, for her emotional depiction of the innocence of childhood
Along with other prizes, Felicity has won a trip to Paris, to visit Saint-Gobain's Global Research & Development Centre and Saint-Gobain's innovation 'Domolab'.
Richard Halderthay, Director of Communications for Saint-Gobain UK, Ireland and South Africa, said: "The number of entries and the quality, and diversity of the sketches was incredible. The sketches captured so many different aspects of habitation and what it means to each of us. From street scenes, scenes of the home or the aftermath of a dinner party, to places that capture special moments in our lives, the sketches were brilliant and the winners were very worthy indeed. Thank you to everyone who entered the competition and to the judges for sharing their knowledge and expertise- they had a really hard job."
A special thanks to all those who entered the compeition and to the judges:
