Recognisable for its wave-like roof the iconic London Aquatic Centre seats up to 2,500 spectators and hosts stunning facilities for swimming, diving and even water polo.
This landmark building provided the breath-taking backdrop to countless world records during the 2012 London Olympic Games. Although originally created to host events during the Olympics the centre was built with a strong legacy focus. This has ensured even after the Olympics this iconic building can continue to be somewhere spectators watch world class events.
British Gypsum provided the partitions throughout Aquatic Centre. In the short-term the requirement was for a challenging partition package which was sustainable, removable and recyclable; accounting for crowd loading and providing means of escape. The legacy mode comprises partitioning throughout including crèche, security and office accommodation and public circulation areas.
More recently, Saint-Gobain brands Jewson and Graham, have been involved in the residential redevelopment of the Olympic Park.
Providing enhanced levels of resistance to damage, GYPWALL ROBUST is a durable impact resistant partition system perfect for public areas.
GYPFRAME was used with moisture resistant performance plasterboards as part of the partition systems specified in the changing areas. Partitions built in the external public areas used bespoke lengths of Gypframe to build extra height partitions whilst still delivering the thermal and acoustic performance required.
