Weber external wall insulation at Green Energy Centres

Two Green Energy Centres in Ferndown and Christchurch, Dorset now display the high performance weber.therm XM External Wall Insulation (EWI) system that quickly and efficiently upgrades the thermal performance and appearance of ‘hard to treat’ homes.  This includes traditional and non-traditional properties with solid walls that cannot be thermally improved with the use of cavity wall insulation.

The Green Energy Centres – the one-stop shops for energy efficiency - which have been set up by Dorset Energy Advice Centre, Warmahome Southern Ltd and Boyland Joinery, are designed to help promote renewable energies and it is hoped they will be used as education centres for school groups and homeowners.  Visitors are invited to input their various lifestyle choices and habits related to energy consumption into a computer which calculates the carbon footprint - that is the amount of carbon dioxide they emit.

These indicators help identify areas in which lifestyle adjustments in energy consumption can be improved by fitting energy saving solutions into homes that will reduce carbon emissions while effectively improving levels of personal comfort.

“Weber External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems are suitable for a variety of insulation types which provide efficient thermal insulation for both refurbishment and new build construction,” says Mark Weaver, marketing manager, Weber.  “The weber.therm XM system has already achieved the ‘Energy Saving Recommended’ label from the Energy Saving Trust (EST).”

This badge of approval is nationally recognised as a symbol of home efficiency standards for the housing industry that go beyond current building regulations.  Extensive housing projects all over the country are successfully being transformed, both thermally and aesthetically, with the application of Weber External Wall Insulation (EWI) in which energy consumption by householders has been substantially reduced with greater control on carbon footprint helping to stop energy and money wastage in the home environment.

Other products on display at the Green Energy Centres include air source pumps, timber windows and low energy lighting.
