Saint-Gobain PAM Director joins board of USIT
A senior representative of iron technology solutions provider Saint-Gobain PAM UK has been appointed to the board of the leading organisation providing training opportunities within the utilities industries.
Dr David Smoker, Business Development Director at Saint-Gobain PAM UK, has joined the Board of Trustees of Utilities & Service Industries Training Ltd (USIT). With its partner organisations the Institute of Water and the Society of British Water and Wastewater Industries (SBWWI), USIT provides a range of grants and bursaries to help individuals to further their careers in the utilities sector.
These include Business Skills Awards of up to £7,500 for accredited training, Harvard Awards to support high-level training at Harvard Business School, and CPD awards which support attendance at leading sector events.
David Smoker commented: “It is a great honour to be asked to join the board and to have the opportunity to help individuals to fulfil their potential and keep the UK at the forefront of innovation and developments in the sector.”
USIT is a registered charity which was established in July 2004 when it took on the assets of Water Training International (WTI) following its demise.
