Solaglas windowcare in the pink to help beat breast cancer

Employees from glazing repair and replacement specialist Solaglas Windowcare donned pink tutus, feather boas, cowboy hats (and just about anything pink they could get their hands on) to raise money for breast cancer awareness on Wear it Pink Day last Friday (October 30).

The 345-strong workforce created a pink glow at its Hellaby base, near Rotherham by wearing pink outfits – the more outrageous the better – with all those doing so donating money to the charity. 

To raise as much cash as possible for the Breast Cancer Campaign, staff took part in a range of activities during the day including a pink raffle and a pink cake sale with employees bringing in homemade pink cakes, buns and biscuits to sell to colleagues. 

One brave male employee even collected sponsorship for agreeing to have his legs waxed on the day!

Over 40 of Solaglas Windowcare’s office team and factory workers (mainly men!) wore special neon pink ‘Wear it Pink’ high visibility jackets all day to really get the message across, with all proceeds from the sale of the jackets going to the Breast Cancer Campaign.

When all monies are collected, the business expects to have raised more than £500 from the day’s events.

Ian Davy, Solaglas Windowcare’s managing director commented: “We welcomed the opportunity to get involved in this fantastically fun and worthy day.  Everyone here jumped at the opportunity to be a part of the Wear it Pink Day and we hope to raise badly needed funds to promote the amazing work that the Breast Cancer Campaign does each day.”
