Members of Saint-Gobain’s inaugural Entrepreneurship Foundation have graduated, following successful completion of the yearlong course.

The Saint-Gobain Entrepreneurship Foundation, in association with the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board), was set up to support small businesses and help them grow, equipping them with the business and management skills necessary to develop their enterprises.

The ‘Class of 2016’ celebrated their successful completion of the training course at Saint-Gobain’s Innovation Centre, which included guidance in areas such as cash flow forecasting, employment legislation, sales pipeline management, purchasing and an introduction to the latest techniques for sustainable building.

Speaking at the event, Mike Chaldecott, General Delegate for Saint-Gobain UK and Ireland, said: “I admire the commitment of our entrepreneurs, who have completed this training while balancing the demands of running a business. Fast-growing small companies are job creators and can be innovative and resourceful in attracting new talent into the sector.

“We will continue to provide support to these businesses in the coming months and years, and are proud to have created a network that is committed to sustainable building.”

Graham McPhail, Head of Training and Education at CITB commented: “We hope that the ‘Class of 2016’ can take the skills they’ve learned, not only to grow their businesses, but also to inspire others as advocates for sustainable building, helping to meet the challenges currently facing the industry.”
