Our people are the driving force behind everything we do! To build upon our 350 years of success, we know how important it is to attract the very best, talented people to join us.
We find many ways to support talented people of all ages and education levels to embark upon journeys to develop themselves, gain new skills and start, or even re-start, their careers.
We're dedicated to developing our talented graduates, so when you join us you’ll be well supported from day one. This support can consist of on the job training and structured programmes, and having opportunities to learn more about your individual business and the wider Saint-Gobain Group. Previous graduates have enjoyed the opportunity to come together, network and start their journey toward a long, rewarding career with us.
Here is a snapshot of our recent Graduate Welcome Day, where graduates got to meet senior figures from the UK and France, learn about career paths, collaboration tools at Saint-Gobain, and network with peers and previous graduates that joined us
Apprenticeships are not what they used to be and they can now be a great fit for anyone - regardless of age, background or experience. They are no longer just a starting point in your career and can be also be undertaken to re-skill in a different sector or build on your existing skillset.
Whether you’re a school leaver or someone looking to re-skill mid-career we want to speak to you. It doesn’t matter what subject or skill you want to learn, we are very open to exploring options for the right people.
This year alone, Saint-Gobain have introduced new apprenticeship opportunities in; Digital, HR, Customer Service, Engineering, Leadership & Management, resulting in over 100 new apprentices in our business, consisting of both new and existing employees. In addition to this we are currently working to finalise additional apprenticeship opportunities in IT and Procurement.
Fancy trying us out first? Internships and work experience are great ways to help you decide the future direction of your career. We regularly offer opportunities for people to experience life at Saint-Gobain before they join. Every year we take on people from school, college and university to undertake placements of varying lengths.
We're proud of the fact that many of these people return to start their careers with us at a later date. For example, meet Sophie – she started with us on a short work placement in our central HR team. Once she graduated, Sophie was offered a full time role in the same team, and has since been promoted to support over 400 colleagues in 3 locations.
Many of our employees go on to have long fulfilling careers within our network of 36 businesses in the UK & Ireland, or across one of the 67 countries that we operate in worldwide.
Career moves in Saint-Gobain aren’t just up either. Experience and qualifications in a particular field are great but we don’t pigeonhole people. We have an impressive track record of colleagues successfully moving sideways across disciplines. This open-mindedness, combined with the breadth of our operations, means the possibilities for your career path are (almost!) as varied as your tastes.
Our intrinsic values of innovation, agility and customer intimacy influence how we do business and how we treat our colleagues, stakeholders, suppliers and customers.
