WHAT'S INVOLVED IN CUSTOMER SERVICE?

Our Customer Service colleagues work across our 700 branches as well as in our office-based teams to support our customers and provide an excellent experience, helping them to find the products and solutions to meet their needs. 

In branch, our colleagues work face-to-face with customers to help them place orders and find what they need in store. In our office-based teams, colleagues handle calls from branch customers to help them with any issues or queries, as well as supporting customers of our manufacturing brands like British Gypsum.

Customer Service is required in nearly all of our 35 brands, each of which vary in the type of product they manufacture or distribute, the industry that they supply, and the types of customer that they serve, so there is huge variety for our Customer Service colleagues who wish to progress their career across the Group.

Not only is there opportunity for progression within the same function at Saint-Gobain, we also support colleagues who would like to reskill in a new function, whether that be within the same brand or a whole different area of the Group.

Our Customer Service colleagues help to make the world a better home for our customers by providing an excellent customer experience. They work to ensure that customers find the right products and solutions to meet their requirements as well as helping them to construct better homes and buildings that are more energy-efficient, comfortable and sustainable. 

They help our customers when things go wrong, building strong relationships and using problem solving to resolve issues and put things right.

As a Team Coach, I am part of the Customer Service team for British Gypsum. My role is to support and coach the customer service advisors to deliver a world-class customer experience to our customers. I ensure that our advisors are equipped with the knowledge, skills and tools to carry out their job. I also manage service level, coordinating and developing our department to be the best it can be. As a coach, I am very passionate in growing my team’s skills to help them progress within the business.
