Mike Chadecott to participate in COP 26 Cities, Building and Built Environment Day event

Mike Chaldecott to participate in COP 26 Cities, Building and Built Environment Day event

Our CEO, Mike Chaldecott, will be participating in the Construction Leadership Council's (CLC) Construction: The Built Environment’ event at COP 26 on 11th November. Alongside others from Actuate UK and the Construction Industry Council, Mike will explore how as CLC Construct Zero partners, Saint-Gobain UK and Ireland are already advancing the importance of retrofit, materials, and design/professional services in delivering net zero.

The event will see the debate of the Construct Zero priorities with Business Champions identifying some of the challenges they face, and opportunities to share best practice. Streamed online through COP 26’s YouTube channel, the event will bring the challenges and opportunities of Net Zero to industry, leaders, SMEs, young industry professionals and the general public.

I’m delighted to be taking part in COP26 and joining others from the construction sector including Actuate UK and the Construction Industry Council on the 11th November as part of the official Cities, Building & Built Environment Day, and the event organised by the Construction Leadership Council.

The construction industry has a vital role to play in reducing the world’s carbon emissions by providing solutions to increase building efficiency and by demonstrating strong leadership and action on carbon, circular economies and innovation. The event will help others to understand the essential role of construction and to focus on the CLC’s Construct Zero industry-change programme which sets out the key targets that the industry must focus on to mitigate the impact of climate change and help the UK to meet it’s net zero carbon climate commitments.

I look forward to sharing my thoughts on the role we have to play at Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland and the actions we’re taking to provide solutions to some of the biggest challenges we all face, how we’re embedding sustainability in our business and ultimately delivering our purpose to Make the World a Better Home.

The event is open to the public and full details, including how to book tickets can be found below.
