We know that embarking on a career move, and attending interviews can be a stressful time. In order to make that process slightly less daunting, we have created a few key tips in order to support you along the way.

    • General Interview Tips
    • Competency Based Interview Tips
    • Recruitment Fraud
    • Tips when interviewing

Our team of expert recruiters have spent some time developing a couple of guidance videos to help with your preparations for interview. We hope that you will be interviewing with us, but much of the advice provided can be used for any other interviews you are attending.

      Advice

      • The basics

Research the business, the role and demonstrate where your skills can add value to the role you are applying for.

      • What to expect

Each interview will vary dependent on the role, the level of seniority and which hiring manager you are working with.

      • The Interview

Typically, the first stage interview is a meet and greet with the hiring manager and is your opportunity to impress and find out as much about the position as you can.

      • Presenting

Dependant on the role you may be asked to do a short presentation, this is your opportunity to showcase your knowledge. The topic will be set by the hiring manager beforehand. It is important to be prepared.

      • Possible Testing

You may be required to sit online aptitude tests; this can happen at different stages dependent on the role. Don’t worry, you can access mock assessments to make sure you are fully prepared for the real thing.

    • Recruitment Fraud

Recruitment fraud is a sophisticated fraud offering fictitious job opportunities. Contact is usually made out of the blue by email, text or social networks such as LinkedIn.

Important: Our in-house recruitment team do approach potential candidates on LinkedIn. However you can identify them as genuine because they will always move the discussion onto email using their @saint-gobain.com email address.

Fake communications can often be identified
      Check the following:

      • Does the message look and sound professional?

The Saint-Gobain and/or brand names and logos can be used on fake documents in order to make the approach seem more legitimate.. Warning signs are poor formatting, substantial grammar and spelling errors and an insistence for the recipient to act urgently.

      • Does the email address fit?

Enter the email address you have been contact by, to see if it is a legitimate Saint-Gobain address.

      • Are they asking for money?

Saint-Gobain, or associated brands, will never ask for payments to secure any role, either as a contractor or employee.

      • Are they asking for personal information early on in the process?

No job offers will ever be made from Saint-Gobain, or associated brands, without an interview. Bank account details will never be requested until you have been successful at interview.

      • Do Not:

        1. Respond to unexpected business propositions and/or job offers that are from people you don’t know.
        2. Engage in further communications.
        3. Reveal your personal or financial details to anyone you don't know.
        4. Send money.
      • Do:

        1. Save the message in case of further investigation.
        2. Report the communication to your local police and provide them with all the information.
        3. Check the email address with our tool above. This can then be reported to us.
