HEALTH AND WELLBEING
We are committed to creating a working environment that protects the physical and mental health of our employees and subcontractors.
We promote a healthy working environment for all and limit occupational risks such as physical, chemical, ergonomic, biological, organisational, and psychological through action plans run locally and centrally by a network of professionals; prioritising risk-limitation measures, promoting a healthy work-life balance and ensuring good working conditions.
Mental Health
In various parts of our business we have Mental Health First Aiders, who alongside their everyday roles, support other colleagues and help with wellbeing. We encourage an open environment. There are more discussions about mental wellbeing and greater acknowledgement that it is “OK to not be OK”, these include open events with open invitations to all colleagues to join a discussion about mental health and share their experiences.
SAFETY
Health and safety is still our number one priority. We care about each other, our suppliers, our customers and the communities where we do business. We want our colleagues to go home each day safe and well. We want to protect from harm anyone working at Saint-Gobain or coming into contact with our operations.
Several of our businesses have achieved a million man-hours without a TF1 safety incident (ie one resulting in a colleague not being able to attend work the next day).
BUILDING A DIVERSE AND INCLUSIVE BUSINESS
Having a diverse organisation ensures we reflect the communities we serve. It means that we can include the widest range of views and ideas from the best talent available to us.
Creating a more diverse and inclusive business is one of the key pillars of Saint-Gobain’s global Grow and Impact strategy. We have clear targets in place for 2025 and 2030, such as having greater diversity in the leadership of our businesses and in our executive leadership teams and increasing the proportion of new recruits from a diverse background.
