THINK BIG, ACT LOCAL
Think big, act local
- Make a positive impact through your personal commitment, regardless of your role in the company.
- Create, experiment, learn and develop.
- Leverage your expertise and skills through responsible initiatives.
ACT LOCAL
Acting locally also means being an agent of change. In the UK, our "Acting sustainably" program enables every colleague to put forward their own ideas for shifting the lines around four major themes:
- Carbon fund
- Nature fund
- Water fund
The initiatives selected are 100% financed by Saint-Gobain!
Lee's Story
Lee Glover
Sustainability & Net Zero Delivery Manager, Saint-Gobain Glass
My journey into sustainability began with a strong foundation in glass manufacturing. I started my career as a Process Control Engineer at Vesuvius UK Ltd before spending over a decade as a Quality and Technical Manager at URM UK Ltd. That experience, particularly in glass recycling, laid the groundwork for what would become a defining passion in my career.
I joined Saint-Gobain Glass in 2019, managing the Batch Plant and Cullet Recycling operations at our Eggborough site. It was here that I became more deeply involved in our Glass Forever Recycling Programme—an initiative that ignited my interest in circular economy practices and low-carbon manufacturing.
When the opportunity arose to step into a sustainability leadership role, I saw the chance to build on everything I’d learned. As Sustainability & Net Zero Delivery Manager, I now work across teams and with external partners to help drive Saint-Gobain Glass’s roadmap toward net zero. From supporting customers on their own sustainability journeys, to identifying new low-carbon raw materials and exploring future technologies like hydrogen fuel and carbon capture, every day is a chance to contribute to real change.
What motivates me most is the ability to influence meaningful progress—not just in our own operations, but across the entire glass industry. I’m proud to be part of a company that backs bold ideas with real action. Our Glass Forever programme isn’t just about recycling—it’s about rethinking how we operate, how we collaborate, and how we shape a more sustainable future for everyone.
