Hyllie Terrass
Introduction:
One of Sweden's first climate-neutral office buildings is conveniently located near the Öresund Bridge and two minutes from Hyllie C. The newly built Hyllie Terrass has 12 storeys and is around 17,000 square meters in size. Hyllie Terrass is one of the first pilot projects for the Swedish Green Building Council's NollCO2 ("ZeroCO2") certification, the building industry's latest (and most stringent) sustainability standard.
Problem:
Now that Hyllie Terrass has received NollCO2 certification, we at Skanska want to be proactive and try new things. To successfully pass this rigorous certification, a comprehensive strategy involving all stakeholders collaborating to reduce the building's carbon footprint throughout its lifecycle is needed.
Solution:
The project incorporates Ecophon's glass wool suspended ceiling system as one of its material choices. Skanska asked for a report on Ecophon's product's climate footprint as early as 2019. It was a fast procedure. For its acoustic systems, Ecophon has long had product-specific EPDs and third-party audited reports.
Additionally, Skanska opted to utilize SoundCircularity, Ecophon's recycling service, which won "Circular Initiative of the Year" at the Recycling Gala 2022.
Benefits:
Glass wool offcuts have historically nearly entirely ended up in landfills. By using Ecophon's all-inclusive recycling service, it is instead recycled into new construction materials, minimizing its impact on the environment and the amount of waste dumped in landfills. An accounting, assessment, and follow-up computation of the climate savings is provided to the user.
We care about building better.
Client's Words:
"We are very proud to be able to set the bar high for sustainable and healthy workplaces. Every reduction in emissions counts and Ecophon's recycling service SoundCircularity strengthened the climate benefits of the collaboration."
Ecophon Focus™ A
The exposed grid structure of Ecophon FocusTM A has simply demountable tiles. for uses that call for a sturdy suspended ceiling system.
Ecophon Combison™ Duo A
