St Andrew’s Healthcare
Introduction:
In collaboration with St Andrew's Healthcare, we considered the requirements of the youth who utilize the program to design a happy, healthy space for its residents.
Problem:
Since FitzRoy House offers specialized mental health treatment for up to 110 young people, some of whom have the most complicated mental health requirements in the UK, it has to have a cozy and friendly atmosphere.
P+HS Architects spoke with patients, occupational therapists, nursing staff, and psychiatrists at St Andrew's Healthcare to ensure the design was appropriate and well-thought-out. They requested a structure that would be adaptable, strong, and healthy, with a solid finish and low maintenance requirements.
Solution:
Our Activ'Air technology was chosen by the St. Andrew's team as a means of improving patient welfare. The most prevalent volatile organic molecule, formaldehyde, is broken down by this technology to provide cleaner, fresher indoor air. Wet plaster was also chosen by the customer because of its aesthetic benefits, which included a smooth surface on which to paint.
The completed structure is a pleasant area that is so unique that it won gold at the 2017 FIS Awards for the installation, Taylor Hart.
We care about building better.
Client's Words:
“We’re very pleased with the end result, and I think even more importantly the patients are too. Everybody’s really proud of FitzRoy House. In terms of the craftsmanship, it’s just phenomenal. Taylor Hart performed really well, and the finish is consistent throughout"
