Introduction:

Taylor Wimpey's new housing development in Welwyn Garden City offers a variety of contemporary residences, including 50 three-story terrace houses and 159 flats.

Problem:

With such a massive project, it was critical that the goods chosen allow for rapid and easy installation to enable the builders fulfill their tight deadlines. In addition, each product had to exceed strict acoustic and thermal standards set by Building Regulations.

Taylor Wimpey was determined to reduce the environmental effect of the project in order to satisfy its sustainability goals. We recommended our Plasterboard Recycling Service as a cost-effective solution to help reduce waste.

Solution:

Taylor Wimpey selected our DriLyner Dab masonry lining technology for use on partitions and external walls. This solution provided builders with a quick and straightforward way for drylining brick, block, and concrete walls. It also satisfied acoustic performance requirements outlined in Approved Document E of the Building Regulations, providing Rw 60 dB of sound insulation airborne.

Gyproc SoundCoat Plus was applied to the partition walls of both the flats and the terrace buildings to further increase acoustic performance. This parge layer reduced air leakage via cracks and unfilled joints, increasing energy efficiency and lowering noise pollution.

We care about building better.
