Anna Spiliopoulou, Project Specification Manager, is helping build better homes by providing technical and specification support to her residential customers
Anna plays a crucial role in driving innovation and improving outcomes for her housebuilder customers. Whether she’s excelling in video gaming or pushing herself at the gym, Anna brings the same determination and focus to her work with housebuilders across London and the Southeast.
A day in the life of Anna involves meeting and discussing requirements with Technical Directors and their Design Teams. Then developing specifications for their projects, providing thermal calculations and training. Working together with colleagues in Sales and Technical Services she supports housebuilder partners throughout the entire project lifecycle, from early planning to on-site construction.
“I am here to make life easier for my customers such as collaborating with them to develop a standardised specification tool. They have a customer Shared Space area on Showpad, that allows them to easily access the relevant standard details, Design Guidance Documents and other useful information. They use this as a starting point on high rise residential projects” explains Anna.
“Low-rise residential projects tend to work with more timber frame where we had more limited test data. Sharing my customers challenges helped identify how much testing our Gyproc boards and Isover insulation systems on timber stud and joists would be of value
to them. So it’s great to see more tested timber stud solutions competed and available on the British Gypsum website”

Her collaborative approach helps housebuilders stay ahead of the game, ensuring every project is built to the highest standards. “Meeting our customers and discussing their requirements to develop specifications to suit is at the heart of my role,” reveals Anna.
As she explains: “Being their main technical contact, I can listen to my customers’ needs and ongoing feedback, which can lead to future product or service innovation. Providing up-to-date specifications and details through regular discussions helps us understand any requirement changes.
“But it's about more than just specifications. It's about understanding the challenges and opportunities facing the industry and finding innovative solutions. I'm here to help make processes straightforward and efficient for the Design Teams I support.”

Outside of work, Anna's active lifestyle complements her professional life. Her love for fitness, including gym sessions provides her with the endurance, speed, and resilience necessary to tackle challenging residential projects. And just like her love of video gaming, where strategy and quick thinking are crucial, Anna navigates the complexities of construction with agility and precision.
