SCAM ALERT - FRAUDULENT EMPLOYMENT OFFERS
Saint‑Gobain has recently become aware of instances where individuals may be using the Company's name, branding, addresses and other publicly available information to create fraudulent job offers and employment documentation. Such scams are commonly used to obtain personal information or induce candidates to pay fees for visas, immigration services, accommodation or administrative processing.
This advisory forms part of our commitment to fraud prevention and supports the principles of the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (ECCTA) by promoting awareness, vigilance and early reporting and aligns with the broader public-policy direction of the new Crime and Policing framework.
Common “Red Flag” Warning Signs
Be cautious if you receive any employment offer including one or more of the following:
Requests for payment relating to:
- Visa processing
- Immigration applications
- Recruitment fees
- Accommodation deposits
- Administration or onboarding charges
Contact details which do not appear to be official corporate channels, including:
- Free email services (e.g. Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo)
- Messaging apps used as primary recruitment channels
Employment offers received without:
- A formal recruitment process
- Interview(s)
- Verification through official company careers channels
Unrealistic compensation or benefits packages appearing inconsistent with the advertised role.
Documents containing:
- Formatting errors
- Inconsistencies
- Poor drafting quality
- Hidden or unusual contact mechanisms
If you become aware of a suspected impersonation, recruitment scam, phishing attempt or other fraud targeting candidates, customers, suppliers or the Company should be reported promptly through established reporting channels. Early reporting supports fraud prevention, disruption and victim protection efforts.
