Our Modern Slavery Statement details the policies and procedures we have in place and the actions to reduce the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking

Modern Slavery

Modern slavery is a challenge faced by our whole industry. We are committed to working with others to take steps to eradicate modern slavery in our supply chain. Construction has the second highest rate of modern slavery and we have a duty to play our part in helping to address this. We have helped to develop training material and actions for the UK sector to raise awareness about modern slavery. We have now trained more than 280 colleagues to recognise the signs of modern slavery.

How are we working to eliminate modern slavery?

  • We have a Suppliers Charter that ensures our suppliers are committed to the norms set out by the International Labour Organisation. These include respecting employee rights, occupational health and safety and reducing the negative impact on the environment.
  • Our Buyers agree to our Purchasers Charter. This commits them to acting in a responsible manner in line with our principles
  • We encourage Saint-Gobain suppliers to complete the Stronger Together ‘Tackling Modern Slavery in the Construction Sector’ training programme
  • An e-learning module has been developed for our colleagues to learn more about the issues around forced labour and modern slavery
  • Stronger Together, with the support from Saint-Gobain, CITB and CIOB, launched a hand symbol to empower victims of modern slavery to get help
