On this section of the site, you will find out more about a new feature we have introduced called "Raise your hand". You can read more about this tool, watch this video on what your local HR colleagues are saying about it, and also submit your application
We have introduced this feature to support your career progression within Saint-Gobain, and to open up opportunities across the diverse range of brands across the UK and Ireland.
It's to flag to our local HR teams that you're interested in progressing into a new role where your interests lie. All information sent to us will be held in the strictest of confidence within the HR community.
HOW TO "RAISE YOUR HAND"
To "raise your hand", you will need to fill out a simple application form (on this page), which then will be uploaded to our internal recruitment system. It's in a short form and will consist of information such as your desired job area or interest, locations of interest to you, and a few other points to help us understand more about what you are looking for.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
STEP 1
Your details will be made available to all HR colleagues across the UK&I, including your local HR contact who will be notified so that they can support you. Your details will be searchable by HR when new positions become available, and your local HR contact will discuss your career development wishes on our weekly mobility forum, to help identify opportunities for you.
STEP 2
Your local HR representative will be notified within 1 week of you raising your hand. They will contact you within 2 weeks of you raising your hand.
STEP 3
You will be offered time to discuss your career development with HR, so they can understand how to support you.
STEP 4
HR will seek out opportunities that may be suitable for you on our weekly mobility call (only attended by HR colleagues).
PLEASE NOTE:
There may not be relevant opportunities that are immediately available. In this case, the mobility forum will periodically check in with your local HR to see how things are progressing and if there are now any relevant opportunities. You will also be searchable by HR colleagues until such a time you "lower your hand".
If you do want to lower your hand for another reason, which is essentially cancelling or withdrawing your application and interest for now, then all you need to do is follow the steps in this easy guide.
You should still keep an eye out for new opportunities, as new roles are advertised daily and we may not always be able to form a quick link between your details and a newly raised role that could be of interest to you - after all, the person who knows you best, is you!
Don't forget that a link to our internal careers site is always available on your desktop. Or, if you don't have access to a Saint-Gobain system, you can search internal Saint-Gobain opportunities via the careers site, www.saint-gobain.co.uk/internal-careers
