Saint-Gobain leads industry dialogue on driving productivity, quality, and sustainability
At this year’s UKREiiF conference, Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland brought together leading voices from across the construction sector to tackle one of the industry’s most pressing challenges: how to advance productivity, quality, and sustainability in a rapidly evolving market.
The discussion highlighted the transformative potential of data, AI, and modern methods of construction (MMC) to deliver improvements. From material passports enabling circularity to digital platforms driving transparency and efficiency, the roundtable explored practical solutions to long-standing barriers such as fragmented data, risk-averse procurement, and slow approval processes.
Helen Hamilton, Head of Sector Development–Residential at Saint-Gobain’s Interior Solutions division, emphasised the need for industry leadership and cultural change: “The technology is here. The standards exist. The real opportunity now lies in collaboration and adoption.”
Key themes included:
• Reliable data as the foundation for reducing waste and improving carbon tracking.
• Circularity beyond carbon, with material reuse and lifecycle thinking at the forefront.
• Industrialised construction moving from pilot projects to scalable platforms.
The message was clear: achieving meaningful transformation requires shared accountability, SME support, and agile partnerships across the supply chain.
